Microtransit is a shared ride service for areas that conventional bus routes don’t reach. Instead of catching a scheduled bus, you request a ride through the NT+ app and get picked up at a nearby location.

There’s no fixed route or schedule. Your trip may include other riders and extra stops along the way, and the vehicle’s path can adjust as people are picked up and dropped off.

Some trips take you straight to your destination. Others connect you to a bus hub, where you transfer to a conventional route. The NT+ app figures out which kind of trip you need and plans the whole thing.

Shared ride service, no fixed route
Booked through the NT+ app
Book up to 7 days ahead
$3.50 fare, two hours of transfers
Kids 12 and under ride free
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles

Depending on where you’re going, your trip is either a direct ride or a connection to a bus. You don’t have to work out which, the app does that for you.

Direct Trip

Straight to your destination

Microtransit picks you up and takes you where you’re going, sometimes across zones, without stopping at a hub.

Pickup –> Microtransit –> Destination

Example: A rider in Pelham books a trip to a medical appointment in Grimsby. Microtransit takes them directly across zones to their destination.

Multimodal Trip

Connect to a bus at a hub

In some areas, Microtransit brings you to a bus hub where you transfer to a conventional route to finish your trip.

Pickup –> Microtransit –> Hub –> Bus –> Destination

Example: A rider in Wainfleet takes Microtransit to the Welland Terminal, then transfers to a bus to continue their trip.

Different areas have different service types. Select your zone on the map to see how Microtransit works where you are. Areas you can travel to light up, areas outside your reach are greyed out.
